Gifted And Talented Education (G.A.T.E.)
The GATE program provides differentiated instruction for identified gifted students. Careful consideration is given to students from all subpopulations, including twice-exceptional learners. We believe gifted students need a variety of learning experiences that allow them to progress and develop at advanced levels. Modifications in instructional strategies and content are key components of our program. Our curriculum focuses on effective communication, self-directed learning, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, critical and creative thinking, and problem solving skills connected to all content areas. The GATE program is housed at Sandcreek Middle School (2955 E Owen St, Ammon, ID 83406). The GATE Coordinator is Katie Sparhawk. She can be reached at sparhawk@d93mail.com or 208-523-5065.
