Samantha joined D93 in 2012. After a brief stint in our Child Nutrition Department, Samantha began working in the District Office. She studied Culinary Arts at Ricks College and is currently studying Public Relations at BYU-Idaho. Samantha won the Idaho Association of School Administrators (IASA) Education Media Award in 2017. She also came up with the concept for D93 News. Since its inception in January 2015, D93 News has won numerous regional and national awards. Samantha and Phil are routinely invited to present at school public relations conferences around the country.
Phil joined D93 in 2014 after spending 14 years in television. Phil worked for KPVI in Pocatello and KSNV in Las Vegas during his award-winning television career. From anchoring sports to running the newsroom, Phil did a little bit of everything before retiring from television and joining D93. Phil brought his video expertise to D93 and immediately began using this platform to connect with our patrons and community. This has resulted in D93 videos being viewed millions of times and a nearly eight-fold increase in D93’s Facebook following. Phil puts the community in community relations. He has served on the Museum Board at the Museum of Idaho and also on the Ucon City Council, all while aggressively pursuing transparency in D93.
